Dr. Kent specializes in cataracts and glaucoma. He sees patients in the downtown Charleston, North Charleston, and Walterboro offices.

After graduating for Haverford College, Dr. Kent attended Stanford Medical School and completed his ophthalmology residency at Stanford Medical Center. He did his glaucoma fellowship at Dartmouth/Hitchcock Medical Center. Dr. Kent has published numerous articles and peer-reviewed papers on glaucoma, cataracts, and other subjects within ophthalmology. He has been the Principal Investigator of many clinical trials, and has presented his work at national and international glaucoma meetings. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Pierre Jenkins Award for Resident Education at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, has served as the President of the Charleston Ophthalmological Society, and is Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at MUSC.

Dr. Kent is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
